I will be helping to curate some noise/free jazz shows at the OUTPOST hopefully starting later this month. I figured out what I will be doing for my set. I have a turntable set up with a record. Said record has been modified a bit with new grooves carved out by an exacto knife, some stickers (in the same fashion as turntablists use for beat juggling routines), various liquids, and heat treatment. The turntable is plugged into mixer and then into an amplifier via effects pedals daisychain. While this is happening, I will have an exacto knife attached to a contact mic which will then be used to cut into the vinyl as it is spinning to emit a howling sound. The contact mic issue is still pending but everything else is on deck. I think I'll ask chard to play his slide guitar through a practice amp. Photos coming soon. And cassette release hopefully.
